About Toto
Toto was founded in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also acclaimed studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The name comes from the Latin word that means "all inclusive," the group was intent on exploring every musical style.
In 1981, Toto's third album Turn Back was a complete failure however, they bounce back with their fourth album Isolation with two hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour made Toto a household name across the world.
After a hiatus of a couple of years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in the year 1986. The album is a departure from the ballads that were featured on previous albums and includes some heavy rock. The album was their first to be certified platinum in North America.
When they record the band's fifth album the band loses their manager and is faced with financial difficulties. They decide to record a brand new album and change their name an entirely different producer. Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, is now replacing Fergie Frederiksen as lead vocalist. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman, and gives the band a much-needed boost.
In 1999, the band released Mindfields and embarks on an extensive tour around the world. After several weeks in Europe The band then travels to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief break, Toto resumes recording and continues to record their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes a cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe in response to the band's cover of their hit Africa on their recent tour. Toto's touring lineup is completed by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

Music
Toto is an American rock group that achieved their biggest success in the eighties. Founded by seasoned session musicians Toto has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.
Toto was the first album released by the band in 1978. The album was a huge hit and catapulted toto into international fame. Since then, the band has released 14 albums that have all been hits.
In 1984, Toto wrote their first and to date only, film score for the film Dune. It was a huge project that required the entire band to be involved. The album that came out, Kingdom of Desire, was another record that was a huge success. After a world-tour, Bobby Kimball quit the band. He was replaced by Fergie Frederiksen, formerly of Le Roux. The band continued with their fifth studio album, Isolation. The album contained a variety of hits such as "Stranger in Town".
After Isolation, Toto took a break from the spotlight and went on hiatus. This gave every member of the group the opportunity to explore their individual projects. In 1996, the group reformed to tour and make an album. 토토사이트 모음 was the first time in over a decade that all of the original band members were on stage.
The next year, Toto toured together with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. This was the last time all of Toto's original members appeared together on stage at the same time. The band broke up after this. Toto came back together for the benefit concert in 2010 to raise funds for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time in more than 31 year that all Toto's original members were on stage together. The original members were joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.
Tours
Toto has remained one of the most popular rock bands for over three decades, scoring megahits such as "Rosanna," "Hold The Line," and their 8X platinum smash, "Africa." The group's anthemic, arena-rock style is influenced by a variety of styles that include progressive rock, world rhythms, soul, and jazz.
The band suffered numerous setbacks in their later years, despite their acclaim. In 2002 the drummer Greg Phillinganes left the group and keyboardist David Paich took a leave of absence for health reasons. Drummer Shem von Schroeck was brought in and the band was not the same without Paich and Phillinganes. In 2008, a series of lineup changes as well as a series of disappointing releases prompted Toto to call it quits for a period of time. The group returned to the road in 2012 after the release of their album 40 Trips Around The Sun.
The album was a return to the band's best form, and the tour that accompanied it featured sold-out concerts in North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was bolstered by the inclusion of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, who had both rejoined the band.
Toto's music is just as relevant today as it was during the 1970s and 1980s, gaining new audiences with each generation. Their success has made them a constant fixture in pop culture and their live shows are always filled with energy and excitement.
